American Gold Eagle Coin 1 oz
The American Gold Eagle 1 oz coin is the official gold bullion coin of the United States and was first released in 1986. The coin is minted at West Point, NY and contains one troy ounce of .9167 fine gold, or 1 oz actual gold weight. The obverse side is modified from the famous Gold Double Eagle design of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The reverse from 1986-2021 displays the flying male bald eagle carrying the olive branch to his nest of the female and their young. The Type 2 reverse starting 2021 features a close-up of the American Bald Eagle.
