The 1 oz Gold Philharmonic was produced starting in 1989 by the Austrian Mint in .9999 fine gold. It features a design illustrating Austria's contribution to music. The obverse is of the Musikverein, the Great Organ of the Golden Hall in Vienna's concert hall along with the year, weight, and face value. The reverse displays several instruments including the cello, violin, harp, Vienna horn and bassoon.
